Abstract

Australian government's media reform package was passed though the House of Representative October the 18th in 2006. After that two-thirds of owners of three TV network has changed to foreigners and Australia's media system has come to be lack of stability. The aim of this study is to find out the meaning of media ownership regulation. Research materials were lots of government's reports, articles of newspapers and magazines, records of parliamentary conference. Major findings were as follows:① the removal of foreigner ownership regulation and relaxation of cross media restriction made Australia's media unstable, ② competition polocoes didn't effect diversity, ③ to protect diversity the foreign investment rules need to be managed effectively.
