| 抄録: | “Non-finite reduced relative clauses” and “non-finite present (or past) participle clauses” are discussed in this paper. Firstly, a brief survey is conducted to examine how these grammatical structures are dealt with in English textbooks for Japanese high school students and ESL grammar practice books, and then I discuss to what extent Japanese university students should learn these non-finite clause structures. |
